Shanece joined MSA in 2016 as a kindergarten teacher. Having worked with students and families throughout the Lowcountry, she brings years of experience and knowledge to the kindergarten team. As a lifelong learner and student advocate, she has a true passion for working with our young learners! She loves being able to watch learners guide their own learning based on their interests. Meeting the needs and helping each child progress in all areas of their development and learning—academic, social, language, and motor—is a challenge that she has been honored to accept daily. In her classroom, she believes that each child is a special treasure and fosters characteristics such as kindness, confidence, and a love of learning. She strives to create a community of learners that nurtures and supports their growth and learning experiences in a loving and positive yet rigorous classroom environment where students will know that they are safe, loved, and encouraged inside and outside of the classroom.

“I see as a teacher how, if you take that spark of learning that children have, and you ignite it, you can take a child from any background to a lifetime of creativity and accomplishment.” – Paul Wellstone
